DALMORE AND ISLE OF JURA WHISKEY.

We are holding our first whiskey tasting evening on Thursday 16th September 2010, we have chosen the Dalmore and the Isle of Jura range for this event. The evening will commence with a tasting session and we will then serve a three course Scottish meal and all for the fantastic price of £12.95. Numbers are limited to a maximum of 20 people co please reserve you table promptly to avoid disappointment.

All profits from this evening will go to the Worthing Lions & Charles Dickens appeal fund 2010.

Tasting session commences at 7.30pm please be prompt

So far this year the find raising by the Worthing Lions and ourselves has reached nearly five thousand pounds this means that we have passed the half way mark of the nine thousand pound target that will enable Canine Partners to purchase and train a new dog that will radically change the life of a disabled person. If you could help in any way with fund-raising, or would like to donate any copper change you can spare we would be most grateful.

Having managed to mess up the updates since March here goes with keeping you up to date with our monthly selection of guest ales, if any one has any ideas were I could have programmed the last few months updates to, answers on a postcard please.

Due to the popularity of Wychwood Brewery’s Hobgoblin this summer we are pleased to announce that it has returned and will remain till the end of the year.

We have two late entries for the month of march they are Hobgoblin 4.5%abv  from the Hobgoblin brewery and from the Ringwood brewery we have their very nice Ringwood Fortyniner 4.9%abv . Don’t forget National Cask Ale week starts 29th March and to celebrate we will be introducing or should we say re-instating the Nip (third of a pint) so you can sample three beers for the price of a pint!!!

May we remind you that Mothers Day is fast approaching and that and we are filling up very quickly so avoid disappointment and book early.

Our three course lunch is just £12.95 or for pre-teens £6.95 and every Mum gets a present.

We will be showing all of the Six Nations Rugby matches at the Charles Dickens.

Where possible they will be shown on the large projector screen in the downstairs function room, otherwise they will be shown upstairs on the large tv in the second floor meeting room.

This weekends matches (13/14 Feb) will be on the large projector screen downstairs.

This week the film club is showing Casablanca (U) and Gone with the wind (U) from 6pm on Sunday 14th Feburary.

We are pleased to announce that we have decided to raise money in conjunction with the Worthing Lions to support Canine Partners.

Our target for this year is £9000 this will purchase a puppy and allow for its training we very much hope that you will support us with our fund raising efforts throughout the year, if you have any ideas on ways we can raise money we would be pleased to hear your ideas.

On Thursday 28th January the Worthing Lions  presented the Motor cycle to the Bloodrunners. This was purchased with the monies raised throughout 2009 by the Charles Dickens and Worthing lions.
