Ploughman’s at the Charles Dickens pub

For lunchtimes we always offer a selection of ploughman’s featuring local and not so local English cheeses. For evening and lunchtimes we have home cooked gammon ham with fresh eggs and freshly cooked chips. Other firm favourites are scampi and plaice plus a selection of dishes with a slightly more Mediterranean flavour.

A favourite dish of many customers is our Spanish chicken casserole; chicken cooked with onions, leeks, celery, fresh thyme, wine and lots of tomatoes and purple Spanish garlic, finished with fresh parsley and served with warm crusty bread & olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip.

Other firm favourites include the famous Dickens burger (home made), rump, sirloin and rib-eye steaks, various salads including Greek and salad niçoise and jacket potatoes.

Please check for regular specials; previous specials have been lamb shank, swordfish, tuna steak, soups and pheasant, amongst others.
